Xining City eliminated nearly 3,000 tons of coal-fired boilers

Since the promotion of the "Xining Blue" campaign, Xining City has completed more than 3000 tons of steam coal to gas treatment tasks, the main urban area of coal to gas clearance in the northern cities, yellow-labeled car elimination in the forefront of the country. With the in-depth implementation of the Blue Sky Project, Xining's clean energy utilization rate has been greatly improved, and its air quality has been greatly improved, ranking in the forefront of the five provincial capitals in Northwest China.

Xining City is located in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and has a long heating period in winter. Coal soot has become an important source of air pollution in winter. In order to effectively improve the atmospheric environment quality in urban areas, since 2013, Xining has comprehensively carried out the "coal to gas" control work, supporting comprehensive measures such as the upgrading of natural gas pipeline network and the elimination of yellow-standard vehicles, so as to promote the clean, safe and efficient heating in winter and realize the full coverage of the coal to gas conversion project in the natural gas covered pipeline network.

In order to promote the implementation of clean energy projects, Xining will expand the coal ban to 166 square kilometers, and implement "coal to gas" within the scope of natural gas pipeline network to achieve "zero" of regional internal combustion coal boilers. We will intensify the standardization and rectification of the coal business market, build five coal first-level trading markets and 49 coal second-level operating networks, and effectively reduce the pollution of the surrounding environment caused by the use of inferior coal.

Strict control of motor vehicle exhaust pollution, implementation of yellow and green standard management of motor vehicles, adoption of expanding yellow standard vehicle restricted areas, increase the investigation and punishment of illegal driving into restricted areas, vehicles without environmental protection qualified signs and highly polluting vehicles, and curb smoking vehicles and non-standard vehicles from entering major urban roads. Vehicle exhaust, industrial emissions and cooking fumes from the main sources of PM2.5 particulate matter pollution have been effectively controlled, and the effect of air environment improvement in Xining is "visible".
